Get Back Drums

There’s a special drum sound on records by the great British bands of the 60s; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Animals and so on. It’s very simple and set-back. Paper-like, even. Certainly nothing like the maximally present drum recordings that came along in the later decades.

We went to Baltic Studios with award-winning engineer Evie Clark-Yospa (Beabadoobee, Blood Orange, Florence and the Machine) to capture that sound. Using the equipment and techniques that those engineers would have used, we’ve compiled a sample pack that is sonically-inspired by this era, and with loops that’ll sit right in the types of tracks sample-based producers will enjoy using today.
