Auclair - Semaphore/Second Signal (Kit Records)

Described as "a delirious reconnaissance mission into the deeper spaces of synth pop music" by Q Magazine, Auclair's 'Semaphore' EP from 2014 is a power quadrant of psych-pop doozies, drawing on the works of Broadcast, Anna Meredith, Colin Stetson and beyond. 

Semaphore comes with four cosmic 'Second Signal' remixes, with Shape Worship recalibrating the spiralling prog of 'Mersea Mersea Me', Toby Gale scrubbing 'Here Come the Planes' clean as a whistle, and Anna Meredith draping Auclair's voice in bafflingly elasticated chords, before Sebastian Palomar flings us from this solar system into the inky deep.

About Auclair:

Auclair is a British-Rwandan music and sound artist and composer. Her work explores rhythm, voice and electronica - treating everyday life like new mythologies and taking an embodied approach to exploring ideas with sound. 

Alongside a series of releases, recent commissions include In Solidarity with Striking Workers for the London Sinfonietta; Munganyinka is a Transformer for The Riot Ensemble and RUZUNGUZUNGU, commissioned by ISSUE Project Room in New York for their With Womens Work series, across these last two works Auclair plays with ideas around non-linear time, memory, ritual, grief, language/cadence, architecture and Rwandan folklore.
