Jeremy Warmsley & Tom Rogerson - Steel Throat [SONGREC004]

Released June 13, 2025

Song is very pleased to welcome the fourth release to the Song Athletics single series, this time around it’s not one but two tracks - two improvised ambient pieces by longtime collaborators Jeremy Warmsley and Tom Rogerson.

Their previous work together includes many live performances in 2005-7, including an ambient improvised set at Danish electronic music festival Forma Nova. Tom contributed keyboards on Jeremy’s first two solo albums and they collaborated on string and brass arrangements. They have many unreleased tracks that they have created together, but these are the first compositions to see release.

“We’ve been making music together across various projects since 2004 but almost none of it has ever seen the light of day, so we’re delighted that these two improvisations we made on a sunny day in April of last year are going to be released by one of our favourite boutique labels.”

Tom Rogerson is a pianist, keyboardist and composer, best known for his collaboration with Brian Eno Finding Shore (Dead Oceans, 2017), and his role as keyboardist and founder of electronic rock band Three Trapped Tigers whose tours with Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan and 65 Days of Static gained them a reputation for their intense live performances.

More recently, he released his debut solo album 'Retreat To Bliss' in 2022 on Western Vinyl records, as well as touring in a duo with tabla legend Talvin Singh. In 2022, he also made his Proms debut performing alongside the BBC Singers.

With TTT and solo, Tom has performed all over the world, at festivals including Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Edinburgh, Brighton and Aldeburgh; and venues such as the Roundhouse, and the Paris Philharmonie. His pieces have been performed at the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.

Jeremy Warmsley is an eclectic songwriter and composer whose work spans pop music to film soundtracks, best known for his band Summer Camp which he founded with his wife, filmmaker Elizabeth Sankey in 2011. They released four albums on Moshi Moshi and toured with Robyn, Metronomy and Wild Beasts, picking up a namecheck from Tyler, The Creator along the way.

Prior to that, his intricately produced electronic singer-songwriter albums for Transgressive Records saw him touring with The Shins and Regina Spektor, and even backing up Daniel Johnston for a few songs at the tiny Brixton Windmill.

In recent years he has focussed on film and TV soundtracks, with his work including the BIFA-winning WITCHES (MUBI, 2024), Channel 4’s BIG MOOD starring Nicola Coughlan and Simon Amstell’s debut film CARNAGE.

Jeremy and Tom will perform together at the Woodbridge Ambient Music Festival on September 20th 2025.
