We're excited to use our platform to showcase music releases by artists whose music we love. Working with artists helps us stay involved with developments in new and innovative music, and as our community grows we're well placed to present music to an aligned audience, which we know is becoming difficult nowadays. The aim for now is to keep things light and simple, not albums, multiple albums, vinyl and so on. Just single pieces, released digitally, with a pre-formatted artwork to let the music do the talking, that we share with our people.
Newest Release: Lara Serafin - Fractured [SONGREC003]
We welcome the latest artist to our single release series, the versatile composer and producer, Lara Serafin, who makes a striking entrance into the electronic music scene with the release of her debut single, "Fractured”, which is out now.
"Fractured" is an intricate sonic journey that seamlessly merges ambient textures, glitch-infused rhythms, and contemporary string writing. Inspired by her extensive experience in film scoring and electronics, Lara has crafted a deeply evocative track that explores emotion and atmosphere in an entirely new way. The single feels both intimate and expansive—a piece that blends electronic experimentation with the richness of orchestral elements.
Known for her innovative blend of instrumental, electronic, and experimental music, Lara has made notable contributions to film, television, and live performances. She has worked closely with Floating Points, transcribing and performing Promises at the Hollywood Bowl in 2023 and contributing to the orchestral arrangements for the ballet Mere Mortals, which premiered at the San Francisco Ballet in 2024. Her orchestration skills have been showcased in the Oscar-shortlisted Czech feature film Vlny (Waves), with music by Simon Goff, and Oscar-winning short The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. Further collaborations include her orchestration of Erland Cooper's Folded Landscapes for the BBC Ulster Orchestra. She has scored multiple projects directed by Céline Ribard including acclaimed mini-series Universelles.
"Fractured" marks an exciting new chapter in Lara’s career, highlighting her ability to push musical boundaries while maintaining a deep sense of narrative and emotional depth.
